Personal comments
Overall, the English ability of Dutch people is excellent. In 9 months living in the Netherlands, I think I met a total of 4 or 5 people who couldn't speak English -- and they were all over 60 years old. It is hard to be motivited to learn Dutch in this environment, but my biggest regret of my stay there is that I did not put more effort into learning the language -- because it certainly would be a great skill to have, but I let that opportunity slip away.

Housing
Type of housing: friends
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Student house
Why?
Becase life in Holland can be a bit "lonely" you need the company of other people to get used to your new life and to make it eassier, especially if you come from a " colectivistic" culture as the latin american cultures.

Personal comments
Rooms are way too expensive if you want a decent one. It could be better especially if you are living in a 10m2 room. I just think prices are too high for what you get. If you want something decent you have to pay much more.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
It's expensive, but it's so nice if you just have a 2 minute walk every morning. And most of the internationals are living on campus, so it's easy to meet!

It's organized really good since you just have to fill out a form and erverything else is done for you. But you should expect to pay a lot more than at home. Some people are leaving really far away from university, so you should spent more money for housing.

I wish I knew that Tilburg, besides the University, hasn't much to offer.

Tilburg is the best place to study and being focused on your academic goals but if besaides studying you want to get the most out of the international experience you will need to push yourself beyond the city and enjoy other places in Holland, Belgium and Europe overall!
