A quite small university, the relation to the teachers are really cooperative, you get the chance to improve your English. Very good computer and internet facilities, organized travels, organized parties. The office of international affairs is very helpful. There are plenty of interesting courses in English!

Travel tips: Join the trip to Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburgh) It's really worth to see! Visit Savonlinna with the castle of Olavinlinna and the ridges of punkaharju (Rent a car and drive around a little bit, there are a lot of places worth to see!) Rovaniemi on the arctic circle (a small ity with a Santa Clause Parc and Post office, a really interesting museum and rendeer farms and husky riding with a sledge!) Take the ferry to stockholm and visit this beautiful swedish capital! (I was there 3 times)! Also the ferry is worth to see! (Viking Line - 11 floors with various restaurants and bars, take the buffet when you book the journey!) Tallinn, the estonian capital is only 2:30 hours with the ferry from Helsinki and has a really nice old town (and cheap alcohol in comparison to Finland) Helsinki is only about 2 hours from Turku and a quite nice town. (It's enough if you go there for one night!) You can see all sights on one day! Take an international student card with you, which is valid for the whole study year otherwise you don't get a student reduction on the local buses in Turku. Ask everything, if you are not really sure, because finnish can be a very confusing language and the people are quite helpful. I'm sure, you'll enjoy your stay there!

Good level of studies, possibility of choosing several courses in English languages. Quite different way of studying than in my homecountry.

I liked it very much. Good social life and possibility to get acquainted with people and to learn English; lot of exchange students and beautiful places to visit. Lot of fun.

People had a much better knowledge of english language than me, so it was a nasty surprise for me. I thought everyone had the same situation more or less, but it was not like this.

This has been a great experience for me, not only because i have improved my english, but also because i learnt a lot about people and this culture. I learnt also from the bad things and for example i know now how important is the weather in the daily life, because this has been one of the harder things here for me to fight with.

I was quite well informed. Only concerning the weather: In August it can be still quite warm, so take short trousers with you - and a rain coat for the autumn..

The courses are really interesting and I would recommend to attend a Finnish course there. The teachers are friendly and helpful and answer your mails right away. The equipement (computers, internet, library) is also excellent! This university is perfect for an exchange semester!

Turku is a very nice little town and perfect for studying. The university is great and living in the student village means a lot of fun. I recommend to travel as much as possible both to the neighbour countries and to other towns in Finland. Finally: Everybody who goes to Finland should try sauna and afterwards jumping into the snow!
