Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because I like sharing an apartment with other people from all over the world. You still have your own room and if you need some company there is a livingroom where you can eat and chat together

Personal recommendation
They should pay more attention to international students. The information available about courses etc. should be in Spanish and not in Catalan.

Final comments
You have to be patient in the Spanish culture. Not everything is that well organised and you often have to go through a lot in order to get something organised. It´s part of the culture so you take it or leave it.If you want to do a lot, go out, etc. you will need at least around 200Euros a week (including rent) Try not to live in the city centre (La Ramble, Borne) because you always have to keep an eye on your belongings, you´ll feel a lot safer in for example Gracia.

I was a bit dissapointed with the quality of the courses. The classes always started too late and I didn´t get a lot of attention from the lecturers

Personal comments
The first few weeks of attending classes were very difficult. I only understood about 5% of the classes. I now understand about 90% so I guess I have made some progress. I understand quite a bit of Spanish, I can have long conversations but I still don´t feel comfortable expressing myself yet.

I have a lot more leisure time here, so I go out for diner and drinks a lot more than back home. Since I am only here for a short period I wanted to see and do everything and of course that costs money

Barcelona isn´t a very expensive city, compared to for example Londen and Paris. You can have a really good diner in a restaurant here for a very reasonable price. Just watch the drinks when you go out because the raised all the prices incredibly since the existence of the EURO.
