The accomodation at the university is rather expensive. It is very difficult also to get the place in the campus next to the university. However the standard of accommodation seems to be good.

Passion, Palacio, Kapital, plus many cafeterias with wanderfull atmoshere close to plaza de Sol and in Atocha street.

Poland is in general cheapper country than Spain. I was in Madrid what made everithing more expensive.

Final comments

You should go to the Erasmus meeting (even if you are not) to meet other foregin students. You can travel and sightseeng with them. And the best source of information about Spain are of course spanish students.
