I am a big fan of Flamenco dancing and singing. Best places, to me, were: Casa Patas, Cafe de Chinitas. Best tapas place: Los Gatos (on Jesus St. and Huertas)

It is a little hard to meet local students. They know each other since the beginning of the career and they seem kind of reluctant to interact with foreign students.

Communicate very well what you want to do and talk to the teachers so they acknowledge your situation. I find this to be of great help in terms of doing group studies.

Final comments
If you want to live outside of the school don't settle for comments like 'you can not use the phone' or 'you can not have visits'. Remember that you will probably stay in the country for a year, and that if you pay for your rent you have the same rights as people that are from Spain in terms of living rights.

It is not easy to get a house where you can use the telephone. I was lucky that where I lived there was a meter and my roomates were trusting.
