I attended a 3-week spanish course in february before the university started and had spanish classes throughout the semester. Although I hardly spoke any spanish at the beginning I managed to become fluent in most situations.

I did allready speek pretty okay spanish and love the language a lot. i would recommend everyone to START any exchange program with at least basic language knowledge, as you cannot profit that much otherwise.

good experience. Most people spoke at least a little English so between my simple phrases and their limited understanding of English, communication worked very well.

It is very hard if you do not speak Spanish, but UTDT will help, most courses were in Spanish, but some of the literature could also be read in English.
