Playa St.Victoria is the center of all surfers and kyte-surfers. The center is full of small tapas-bars (best: Veedor, Gotinga, Garbanzo Negro,...) For night life bars in the citycenter are recomended ( Nahoo, UMEC ) After 3am all people go to "la punta" as a center of going out and dancing! For taking a coffee or having a short break I can recomend "plaza de la cadetral" and it's cafes. For the a quick meal you can go to "el refugio" en la calle benyumeda - there you find the best bocadillos of town.

There are a lot of places to go out in Cadiz. The most favourite bar at the beginning is of course "Nahu" and the discos near to the port. When you get to know the city, you will find a lot of bars and restaurants where you can spend your time and enjoy your stay in Cadiz (Bars: Umec, Timbre, Excalibur; Tapas Bars: Gotinga, Garbanzo Negro, Montaneros, 100 Montaditos, El refugio...)

In Cadiz, the best night life is the Plaza Mina and then the Punta, which is a line of discos that fill up on Friday night. My favorite plaza was the Plaza de flores where churros were sold at 7:00AM on Sunday. It was custom to stay out until this time, then buy churros for your family to eat for Sunday breakfast. The rest of Sunday was spent sleeping.

It is difficult to give advice on the nightlife. The main activity of university students was concentrated on meeting, drinking and socialising at the main plaza. As one can imagine it becomes a very filthy place after 11pm, unpleasent behaviour was not uncommon. There is not much choice of nightclubs, as the most popluar one had been closed down recently, due to a drug razzia. Not only did drugs dominate the nightlife in Cádiz but the people were very young. My friends and I personally preferred having long dinners, meeting at someones house, play music (guitar) and spend time together. Food was more important, Disco I could always have plenty in London. As I say, better to concentrate on the best a place has to offer.

it seems that gaditanos enjoy nothing more than takinga carryout to the nearest plaza and just having a drink in the streets with their mates. Carnaval is not to be missed in March and certainly when you first arrive you HAVE TO stay at the hostal Quo Qadiz!

We often went to Zona 10 in la punta and sometimes to Sala 7. We also like Miramba...other fun things were of course el botellon in the Plaza de Mina in the winter and 'por la playa' in the summer.
