I had the challenges that any foreigner will face, but everyone was so patient. In the begining I did not even want to answer my cell phone if my house mom was calling, because I knew that I would not understand anything she said, but by the end of one year; I would call her just to see how her day was going and spend some nights with her and her girlfriends while they gossiped the night away!

The year abroad was the major factor in my language learning which at that point had lasted 9 years in total. The experience of going to a university where you could not avoid listening to 4 or 5 hours of spanish every day was invaluable to me and made me fluent. Over the year communication became easier and I felt more and more confident as time went by.

very easy language integration off-campus. people are very helpful and correct you. a bit tougher on-campus because lessons dont really give them the time to care about your language difficulties

there is an excellent interaction beween Erasmus students. Nevetheless It is admitted that a lot of Basque students are somewhat unconsciously defiant towards the foreign invaders we are !
