In the beginning there were times when I thought, "Wow, what did they just say?" They use vosotros and speak with a lisp "th" which I picked up rather quickly. Spain was great, I do wish that the University had more options for things to do. Comparing it to my home university(500 plus clubs) there wasn't a lot to partake in outside of class.

I might recommend the university for people that want to go into Tourism, since it is well known for it. I would recommend taking classes with the Spanish students and socialize with them whenever possible.

Travel tips: Blue jet is a great source to fly by. Hostels in Europe are all so different, try a lot out when traveling.

Personal spending habits
I spent more on a phone because I had a cell phone in Spain, I could actually go out since I was of legal age, and I traveled every chance I could while in Europe. I didn't have to spend very much on food since it was built in with our program cost, and housing was also taken care of.

Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why?
I lived with an amazing family with whom I still keep in touch with. I know that I would be welcomed back with open arms; I also believe that living in that environment really shows someone that culture and you can understand the language much faster.

I lived with another host student, and had 2 'siblings'. One was great, and the younger one didn't talk very much and was always with her friends. It was a nice house and we shared chores.

I really liked to go to the cafe's to study and have a cup of coffee. The downtown park was great to run in. Every weekend they had huge parties in an outside parking lot called "Al Ferial" where they set up a dance area, food venders, and even the local buses ran out there. The cathedral at night was a beautiful sight to see. Every Thursday night was "Eramus" night, for all exchange students and it was a dance party.
