my apartement was in the center of the city very close to the beach, which offered you a lot of possibilities to arrange your freetime outdoors. i´m very glad that i didn´t choose the opportunity to live with other germans because that isolates you a bit from the place where you actually are and the unique possibility to get a deeper idea of what the real life with all its customs and habits typical for this country is.

Pourquoi?

I enjoyed living in a flat as I was able to meet other students. I lived with three Spanish girls which I think made all the difference in improving ym Spanish.

I am not sure about the University accomodation as I decided to find a flat locally. However, the reason I chose to find a flat was because I thought the university accomodation was very expensive.

You have to arrange your accomodation yourself, but the university can offer assistance in finding one. They have some offers at the International Relations Office in the centre. But a lot of them are outdated or have other disadvantages, like location, costs etc. At the end it was not that difficult to find a decent place to live.

University offers a room in student dormitory, but it i svery expensive and nobody wants to overpay. All international students live in "piso estudiante" - one apartment shared with 2-3 roommates.

I lived in a spacious flat with a great seaview just at a 3kms beach, what more can I say... I stayed with another Erasmus-student (2nd year) and we were from different countries, it was great, but I would have preferred living with Spaniards

The international office may help you with phone numbers to people subletting rooms/flats. It is no guarantee, but it helps a lot.

It's a shame that the university didn't help the Erasmus students at all to find a flat or a way to house.
