The Halls that i was placed in originally were nice in terms of cleaniliness, facilities etc. However I had been placed in a double room and didnt get on with the girl i had to share with. This was mainly due to age difference and the fact that her and her friends made no attempt to converse with me in Castilian and would speak in their local tongue which I found quite rude and intimidating when I first arrived there.

Accommodation in Spain is cheap compared to the U.S. I got to live with other Spanish students. I had the freedom to come home when ever I wanted and I could cook for my self. I also got to live in the beautiful old section of town.

If you live in the old section beware that the heat and plumbing are not always the greatest. I have not seen the campus accommodation but I'm sure it's fine. In Santiago you can walk anywhere, so location is not really a problem.

Santiago de Compostela University (Spain) is a little bit harder than mine (Trento, Italy), and better concerning social facilities for students: excellent, from several points of view.
