I know there is an Erasmus program there. I would recommend going. It's a beautiful city and a great time. Late spring and summer are definately the time to be there.

Food and rent is cheap. Alcahol is cheaper than at home but I drank more. Travel is more expensive because I didn't travel much in Colorado. Telephone was more expensive because you need a mobile, plus calls to the states.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Accommodation in Spain is cheap compared to the U.S. I got to live with other Spanish students. I had the freedom to come home when ever I wanted and I could cook for my self. I also got to live in the beautiful old section of town.

Personal comments
If you live in the old section beware that the heat and plumbing are not always the greatest. I have not seen the campus accommodation but I'm sure it's fine. In Santiago you can walk anywhere, so location is not really a problem.
