Around Plaza Alfalfa there's almost a bar open, and if everything is closed, just go around the corner to the Berlin bar, it's open till 7 in the morning or so :) For the best tapa bars, go to Coloniales, La Cigala de Oro (slightly outside the centre) or El Rinconcillo (tapas are said to have been invented there!).

I had a great apartment, everything quite new and clean. Maybe the landlord could have been better, and there was also a lot of noise (I was in Calle Recaredo, a street with very much traffic and... AMBULANCES!), but it was only 5 to 10 minutes away from the centre, and just very nice to live in.
I wish I had known it would be so short :) Just enjoy it as good as you can. I'll never ever forget my staying there.

Don't think it will be a lot easier than at home, because it isn't :) Most of the Spanish or Hispanic literature classes are of a high level. On the other hand, don't worry if you make some language mistakes, professors allow you to use a dictionnary, and you can impress them if you speak/write good.

Visit Granada!! It really is a fantastic city, beautiful and alive! The Alhambra is the most beautiful building I have ever seen!
Travel enough, but don't forget to explore Sevilla itself: it has so much to offer!
Also, I repeat, really try to get to know local people, and definitely go to the Feria de Abril! You won't regret :)

Be warned: the Sevillan dialect is NOT easy to understand, BUT after a while you get used to it.
The only way to really improve your Spanish is to get to know locals. It's not very easy, but just go to the Feria de Abril, a little chat here and there and there you go! I have some good friends in Sevilla now. People there are usually very friendly and willing to talk to strangers (that is, if you are interested yourself, and don't act like a complete tourist).
