Computer facilities at the university are pretty non-existant. Unless you want to spend a fortune at internet cafes (like I did) its a good idea to have a lap top.

When I first arrived I struggled with things like opening bank accounts,university administration etc. However, by the end of my stay there I was able to communicate well in Spanish and felt at ease with the language.

Cafe Matarrana at the top of Gran Via has the best bocodillos you will ever taste.
As for nightlife you can find hundreds of bars in the Casco Viejo open until the early hours of the morning.
