Why?
It is easier, and you have the opportunity to meet many Italians and other exchange students. Renting an appartment in Milan is more difficult but it is true that you are more independant.

Go to the "aperitivi" or happy hour in Milan cafes. Don't miss the Casablanca, and, of course, the Old Fashion Cafe. Milan is also full of cultural events, just go! For info, the tourism office has a book : where, when, how. There is also a free magazine you find in cafes, "zerodue"

Try not to be sick, Health is a mess there. But apart from that you will find a very nice country, with smart students and good teachers.

For the Accomodation we have Public assistance in our country, not in Italy, that is why I spent more, and for Nightlife, it is not expensive, but we had so many parties!
