In Italy, food in general is much more expensive than in Germany. This is due to the diverse distribution system: in Italy less supermarkets can be found but more small shops with higher prices on the average. The public transport system on the other hand is less expensive. Especially travelling by train. For travelling by car, one has to take into account that fuel is more expensive and that the highway isn't for free.

The Italian language was very easy to learn as people in general are very communicative and really care about the foreign students. My language skills improved tremedously during my stay in Italy.

The Foreign Students' Office is very well organized, helps the students with administrative things like the permission of stay etc. and also occupies itself with the students' integration on campus.
