University is good but sometimes not well-organized
Federica B
Italy, Graduate
Language, 2019
Overall
Courses are usually really interesting but sometimes badly organized: it may happen that two or more courses are scheduled at the same time, so you'll have to choose which one you want to attend. Also, the university of Turin has more than one locations in which courses are taught, so you might risk being late since you have to walk 5 to 15 minutes to reach your next class. The main locations are Palazzo Nuovo and the Campus Einaudi, the former is an older building while the latter is quite recent and a really great structure: there is a café inside and many study rooms, wifi, computers etc.
Teachers (at least the ones I had) are well-qualified and passionate, lessons were never boring. There are many students also with different nationalities, and there are many opportunities to make new friends.
Student life in Turin is, at least in my opinion, quite cool but still relaxing. Turin is a big city but you can still reach the city centre by foot, or just take a bus: the transport system allows you to move around easily. Rentals are not that expensive, but not cheap: of course it also depends on where you live inside the city. Anyway, if you are a student, I suggest you get a room\house in an area called "Vanchiglia": most students live there.

Pros
General cost of living (since Turin remains one of the biggest italian cities); social life; beautiful city.
Cons
The university has many locations but classrooms are often too small for the amount of students.

Challenging yet beautiful journey
Kavya R
Italy, Graduate
Materials Science, 2021
Overall
I am an Indian national, and I did not learn italian before coming to italy. So my initial days in the country were really tough, until I learned A1 level language, after which I could manage my living with basic communication. My course was an erasmus course, so the university offered me free italian classes. My course Masters in Materials Science was an English taught course and so I never had any difficulties at the university. However, when I needed administrative services, I had to suffer, as the office people most of time did not have even basic English skills, and would react rude to English speakers. Apart from the language barriers, my journey has been a pleasant one. There is sufficient scholarship provided by EDISU, which was really helpful, as finding a part-time job was not easy for non-natives. University’s educational facilities like study halls and restaurant services are pretty good. Apart from all these, Turin is a wonderful place to live in. All the struggle seems worth it when you just sit around in the cities beautiful parks like parco Valentina.

Final comments
The over-all experience was great. The country is wonderful, and the people are friendly but they have bad tempers. The program is good, and most of the teachers are very good. Many teachers are highly qualified with much international experience.
