Fribourg is just at the border between the French speaking and German Speaking aere. For me the election of Fribourg was in part because of this duality of languages. I could follow my courses in French and enjoy whithout pression my Deutch lessons. I think is a good option. The University is bilingual, every student has the option of choosing the language.

On the street Swiss German can be a problem even if you are a german native speaker but everybody can speak also German properly.

Before I began my Erasmus in Fribourg my level of French was high, but after spending a year there my fluidity and surety on French has become better. I also tried to learn German, but i'm not able to say a lot of sentences at the moment.
