Personal comments
We had the opportunity to do a language course at the beginning of the semester. I learned more from interacting with students and following the courses, but the advantage you have when you do the language course is that you already feel at home and have everything well arranged before the semester begins.

Academic
Course recommendations
The strategic courses I followed where really great. Also the course on Fast Moving Consumer Goods, which was facilitated by Henkel, was interesting. Further there was a german course on e-commerce which was really good.

Berlin and Bonn are nice cities to visit. If you go to Berlin you at least have to stay there for 4 days. Some friends of mine went ot the October Feste in Munich and that was quite fun (you have to like apres skiing to like this!). Other nice cities to visit are Heidelberg and Trier.

The Albertus and Magnus cafe's in the Zulpicher Strasse are great. They have good food (a lot of italian which is not so fat as the german food) and not expensive. Further you have to visit the brewhouses where you can eat. And of course a visit to Das Ding, the student discothek, which is really great.

You can have a very good appartment when you are willing to pay more money. But when you are not willing to pay more, you can be send to a studentflat with a small room and it is far from university. This flat is in Junkersdorf and it is far away. So you have to check out where your housing is located.
