Alojamiento
Tipo de alojamiento: Piso o apartamento
Organizado por: Independientemente - no había otra opción
Si volviera, eligiría: Piso o apartamento
¿Por qué?
I found a perfect apartment in the sixième arrondissement with 2 French students and 1 other American student. I very much enjoyed that apartment, and got along well with my housemates.

Comentario personal
Housing wasn't provided by the university, so we had to find our own apartments. The search was troublesome at first because of the language barrier, but in the end, I found a great place.

Gastos
Fuente de financiación principal:
Beca oficial
Otras fuentes de financiación:
Familia
Oportunidades de trabajo:
Trabajé informalmente (dinero en mano)
Costumbres personales de gasto
Buying cell phone credit was expensive (about 100 euros a 1 1/2 months); I experienced more of the nightlife than I do at home; being in Europe, I traveled more.

Viajar, General, Vida nocturna, Teléfono:
Más caro que en casa.
Alojamiento, Comida:
Igual de caro que en casa.
Disponibilidad de material estudiantil
Comentario personal
Perhaps invest in a cell phone plan instead of buying mobicartes for phone credit. Otherwise, any cost-saving tips you apply at home would suffice in France.

Estudios
Recomendaciones de cursos
Some of the courses don't have a separate discussion section where students dive deeper into the material so as a foreign student, lectures were a bit hard to understand.

Mi experiencia académica
Interacción con profesores
Interacción con estudiantes internacionales
Interacción con estudiantes locales
Comentario personal
Most of the courses I took had one final grade, and as a foreign student, it is hard to have a grade based solely on one final exam.
Also, it can be hard to make friends in class because all French students take the same classes in their major and form friendships beginning in their first year of university.

Factores imporantes para mi elección
(1) Sin importancia – (4) Muy importante
Recomendación personal
The university was reasonable. The problem is that it went on a 2 month long strike at one point during my stay which affected my classes and my grades.

Idiomas
Comentario personal
My understanding of the French language was fluent before I studied in Lyon, but my speaking skills were not as good. I think that I really improved my speaking skills by being able to interact with students, and by being forced to speak with others in my day-to-day activities.
