I saved some money to spend while I was abroad. I wanted to have fun, so I spent more than I normally would if I was home. I would say that cost of living in France is comparable to the cost in the US. Except for the nightlife, which can be really expensive in France.

Phone bill surprised my room mate and me. Was our only argument during the whole year. Phone is very expensive in France. Cost saving tip? Shop at NORMA at tram stop "La Mosson", its the cheapest way to get food. Dont use the phone so much!

Forget money transfers through French banks - they're unreliable and they cost a lot. Instead, use a cash machine and withdraw money from your foreign account. It's easier and cheaper.
