Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I'd feel more independent. Although there was a 24 hour security man, I didn't feel very safe. There was only 1 lockable door between me and the street - the door to my room! Also, the cooking facilities were very very basic, no oven, only a few kitchens had microwaves, no fridges, and many kitchens not even having a working hob.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Most Erasmus students appeared to choose apartments, and if i had been there for the whole yr, i would have too. They were relatively cheap, you can claim money back and, in my opinion, safer.

Acc. was cheap and in good location, but the amount of noise at night wasnt controlled and there was only limited lighting around the area at night.

Why?
Foreign students in Pau tend to be placed in the worst halls where cooking facilities are few and far between.

The halls are really convenient for the uni and supermarket, but the facilities within the halls themselves are minimal. At £80 a month you can't expect much, but 2 cooking rings between 50 people can be extremely testing.

Housing was very cheap, but rooms were very small and people were not so clean. But the university provided better accommodation, which was more expensive. I chose the cheap one myself.

I am pretty easygoing so I just didn't let things like sharing a shower and a kitchen with 30 other people bother me.
