Personal social experience
Personal comments
Marseille is a very lively place by night.
Aix-en-Provence itself is much more quiet, more a "go out for a coffee" place

Academic
Course recommendations
lectures are delivered on a much more theoretical level than at my home university and last longer (up to 3hours), self study is therefore necessary

Overall
I wish I had known...
I wish I had known before that I could also have stayed in Marseille University accomodation

In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
To go there not expecting it to be like a British University, being prepared to rely a lot more on yourself rather than on tutors/lecturers
definately very useful to learn the language and learn different aspects in translation/interpreting studies

Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
travel tip: explore "provences alpes cote d'azur", STUNNING landscape, definately worth renting a car to see the region better than by bus/coach
money saving tip: staying in the "Cité Universitaire" in Marseille and travel to Aix to attend lectures (cleaner and more modern)
