I was happy to have my own room but i was disappointed that there was no place to meet with other students, even it could be simple for example a kitchen to prepare meals together, there was no place to organise any events (like birthday or barbeque)there was always problems with noise and security,on the campus there were students restaurants opened for lunch and for dinner but nothing more...oh maybe i forgot about one automatic shop:)One of advantage to live there it was this that university was very close concerning lacation of campus-by metro it was 15 minutes from the center of city.

It had both advantages and disadvantages, living in the students' dormitory allowed us to get to know a lot of people but we were far from the city, there was nothing in the campus, neither grocery stores, nor bars or newspaper stands

It was a bit disappointing, because I wanted to improve my french and on the campus were no french people at all. The communication between the host- and the home university was also pretty bad: We took the wrong courses, the teachers didn't know anything of the arrival of foreign students, etc.

If you want to live on campus, you have to consider the rooms are pretty small and in weekends the campus is dead.

Lille1 is about 6 km away from the city center. It is easy to stay on 5 minutes by walk to the faculty, but unfortunately there not much to do on the campus (except for the Erasmus parties). The rooms are quite small. There are only few communal rooms such as a study room or a relaxation room.

One thing to know is that you can rent a room on the campus from the International Relations office, but this 'll cost you 40 euros more then if you rent directely from the housing agency "crous" (157 euros). In the city center there is a house called "la maison bleue". It's a house with 18 rooms for Erasmus students. You pay about 270 euros, but I think it's worth paying that.
