There are some programms from the University, wich help you to find a accomodation. Its no problem to get some. The habitations for students are o.k. . But i think its better to search your accomodation private, because you have to live with Spain people to learn the language.

Bars: Oveja negra-the students pup near the Ramblas. Most of the bars in "Gracia" the best part of the town to celebrate. Events: In the last weeks of September there is the traditional Barcelona-Party. With many groups and other actors. All gratis.
The Student Party of the University Autonoma outside from Barcelona. Its the greatest party for students, wich I ever seen.

If you come from Germany its helpful to have a current account at Deutsche Bank, because you get money without fees.
You should go to the south of Spain to see other the real Spain flavour. In Barcelona its all mixed. My favourite town is Granada and Sevilla.

If you don`t want to learn Catalan, you have some problems to connext wiht the hom students. But with Spain you will not get problems to live in Barcelona. All the people, except some older, speak also Spain, so you could communicate as well.

Telephone: You need some mobile to communicate with your friends there. And to phone in your country with your family its also expensive.
Accommodation: In Munich there are the highest rents in Germany, so in Barcelona its cheaper.
