Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
We are living with four people of different backgrounds in one house, it is really interesting what you can learn from the people with who you are living with. But it also nice that it isn´t to crowded, you have some privacy in the appartment.

Personal comments
In general it is ok, no complaints. They only have to install new computers, because for the students it is impossible to connect to the internet in a normal way. So it also impossible to arrange formal and informal things by means of a computer at the university.

Academic
Course recommendations
Some courses are in Catalan and as a foreign student it is hard enough to understand something of the Spanish classes, so that´s why I really boicot the Catalan classes. Also some inscriptions etc. are in the Catalan language (all the information of the sportcentre of the university for example), it is really strange in my opinion that they don´t have it in Spanish)

The academic level isn´t the highest. Everything is being repeated over and over. If you are a student with some academic level than this isn´t necessary.

Personal recommendation
I really can recommand this university to study abroad. The only thing which is negative in my opinion are the computers (really bad) and the Catalan language.

Final comments
In general I´m really satisfied by chosing this university. You learn a lot, and for example I am in a class of 13 people, with 10 different nationalities! You learn so much of that for your further national career, you can´t express it in words. About traveling, it is a bit expensive to travel whole Spain, but really worth it! Try to have an advanced level of your Spanish before you come here.

Personal spending habits
In Spain it is more usual to eat in a restaurant. In the Netherlands most of the time we were having dinner with friends at home. The telephone was more expensive because of the calls abroad. The accomodation which I found was really less expensive. The nightlife in this big city is really expensive in for example the discotheque. Off course you travel more than you normally do in you own country, so the expenses are higher. Overall the expenses are higher than in at home.

Personal comments
I took Spanish classes in the Netherlands, but as always, in the country itselve it is sometimes really difficult to understand someone who is speaking with an accent etc. But just that you are there and hear the people talk is a really important factor the learn the language. Also the Spanish classes where really important to me.
