Avis sur Universitat de València (UV)

I was very pleased with the accomodations both UVA and the Universitat de Valencia made for us. At times, they did too much! The program tailors itself to your needs. If you are looking to get out and meet native speakers, then you have that opportunity; and if you are looking to hang out with Americans and just enjoy the study abroad experience, then you can do that too. However, if you are going to go that far to simply hang out with Americans, then you will not learn nearly as much!

The university normally sets up international students with homestays, but I chose to find housing on my own. Most of the other students were very happy with there homestay families, and if one wasn't happy with their situation, the university was very understanding about it and would work with him or her and switch them to a different home if need be.

The university had nothing to do with my accomodation and did not help me in finding it. That is understandable on my part as I wouldn't expect help in finiding an apartment in Ireland so why should the rules be changed when I go abroad?

the best is to rent a flat. You get the best deal. There are plenty of flats available and students from all over "la Comunidad" are sharing apartments. so you'll get in touch with lots of local people really easily. university housing in spain is really expensive

I had no accommodation at the University. Generally the "collegio mayor" are more expensive than normal apartments. And there are a lot, so it´s not hard to find one.

It's not difficult to find a room in a flat of students, it approximatly take a week of search. It pays to inspect and compare different flats.
