I have been to only this university so hard to say because if one compares more universities, only then right answer can be find as it depends on persons's choice of study field, funds, expectation from host country. If one looks for job, i will say its hard to find one as initially promised by university as no placements are done on Campus for Master students.

Final comments
Its always good to contact students already enrolled in same studies one want to undertake. It gives good idea as to what it really is in form of work load, part-time job and so on as i was in touch with my seniors that really helped to feel at home in new place.

Please inform youself comprehensively about the courses and their respective contents. Course descriptions online are generally not very good. A big help for international students is Joyce Cameron from the Internation Office :)

Use the SLC (student's learning centre) extensively. They will help you in a lot of academic matters! The membership fee is already paid for you by the international office.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: independently
Why?
It avoids any conflicts if one is not aware of host country culture but if its only matter of sharing and not interfering into each other lives, even sharing is good option

Personal comments
The cost was too high and there were facilities that were not upto the cost paid. But it was good experience to feel at home with people from different culture and getting the feelings of a big world family.

Personal comments
There's an official agreement between New Zealand, France and Germany which states that German and French students have to pay domestic tution fees only, if they study on postgraduate level in New Zealand. This is a discount of approximately 66%, depending on your courses! Also save enough money for travelling, it's nearly impossible to get a work permit.
