Personal comments
Yes, I would not have for one course, 2 days of lecture in a big auditorium and 1 day of seminar. I would instead have 2 seminars a week per course that way you can get to know the students and teachers better.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
I would choose the same because I lived in a flat with 7 other people where we each had our own bathroom and room and we shared a common room and kitchan. Everything was brands new and clean. We had our privacy and yet we had a place to hang out.

Go into the town. And take advantage to travel to different countries on the weekend. I also joined the saling club and I had a lot of fun doing that.
