I took intensive language courses which were a bit arduous at times but entirely worth it, I would definitely take it again.

I worked, but it was illegal/cash in hand work

Everything in China is much cheaper, the only thing I spent more on is the phone and thats just because I was making international calls which I dont do at home. Housing was the same as home because I paid my home university directly the same amount it would cost for one semester.

It was a nice dormitory style housing, we had our own bathrooms and internet access. Comparable to other Chinese student dorms, our places were very nice.
