NIght life is different in Ireland than in Spain. Both pubs and discos close earlier at night (about 2 a.m.) and this together with the fact that the campus was 20 minutes drive from the town made people decide, most of times, spend the nightimes at the campus bar (the Stables). In town there were a couple of nice discos such as "docks" or "The Market" and a social meeting point to go watching sport matches at the TV called "The Sports Bar" placed in O'Connell Street, which is the main street of Limerick.

The university has three pubs on campus, which is a drastic change from the puritanical dryness of my home university. It made it easy then to go "out", but the scene wasn't what I'm into (mostly loud chart-music-playing places where one goes to check out the boirds). Nancy Blakes can't be missed but getting downtone is a pain and the busses stop running kind of early (that might have changes).

It is really nice to attend International Society meetings and parties at Scholars Pub: Traditional irish dancing, live music, quids, games, cool people, guiness... Organized travels to Belfast, Galway, Cork, etc. are terrific!

Some pubs in the city, as Nancy Blake, The Old Quarter, and the pubs in and around the campus. To dance, the Kilmurry Lodge, good music and not expensive. Apart from some old and small pubs in the tiny villages of the area.

Go to teh castle pub, for me it was the bets place in town, especially at life-music nights. And, don't miss the cafe Java, it is the best place to chill out aftee the pubs close.

Don´t miss the oportunity and go to the best night club in Limerick and probably in the whole country. A unique alcoholic and sexual experience you can´t miss. It´s open almost everyday.
