I lived in a "flatting community" called Toroa International House. My flatmates and the people living in other flats were from a wide range of countries. Getting to know things about their cultures and personalities is what I found more interesting about living there.

Even though the flats weren't in a good state, living in the Uniflats offers the possibility of meeting a lot of international and native students, especially in the big complexes (Lofts, Flofts, 480 Leith etc.)

Uniflats are substandard and way too cold in the winter. Fortunately, my room (NOT a uniflat!) was warm.

You can get housing through the university, but i recommond getting yourself, that way you can choose who you live with and where.

Cheap. Living with students from NZ, they often had arrangements about cooking. Negative: cold (do not like to spend money on heating).
