There is a "committe" which offers you weekly the opportunity of participating in different activities thay may take place in the city or surroundings, including excursions or so. When I was there the person who organised everything was named "Jim Wilson" in case you need to know.

Locals from Glasgow have a very special accent which sometimes makes the communication quite complicated. However, they are nice people and try to help you understand them. Moreover, you will normally interact with other students or universtity staff who speak stardard English
