Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I had my own room but at the same time there were common ones where you could talk and share experiences with your flat mates. My flat mates became my family and at the same time, certainly, my best friends during my time in Swansea. I do not think I would of had got this if I had lived somewhere else. We had our own kitchen so I could do my own cooking and I did not have to share the kitchen with twenty students as you have to if you live in a residence.

I think it is really well organised. There is plenty of space for almost all students, and they can offer you lots of accommodation possibilities as : Residences, Houses, etc. Their prices are quite good.

For what nightlife is concerned you have to go to Mumbles, where the Mumbles Mile takes place every weekend. The city center is also OK for weekends. You must visit Cardiff. You should attend to the rugby match between Cardiff and Swansea University teams. I am sure there are lots of things I am missing, but I could say I really enjoyed myself during my time there.

Overall
I wish I had known...
I was familiar with the British culture , but I did not know the gastronomy there was so bad compared to the Spanish one. I wish I had known things were so expensive there.

Final comments
Things are quite expensive if you come from Spain, but do not think too much about it. Try and have a good time and visit as much places as you can, if the weather permits you to do so. Take with you a good umbrella.

My English was already fluent when I decided to have this experience abroad, but my English has certainly improved after this studying period at Swansea. I was able to learn specific vocabulary related to Business studies, and I had the opportunity to talk in English most all the time I spent in the UK, which made my speaking much better and gave me the possibility to learn some slang. I also improved my French because there were lots of French speakers studying in Swansea.
