courses are tought in serbian! the only way to assist them in english is by seeing the professors on a regular basis in their consuktation hours. i did it like that and have to say that it worked really well for me.
price levels are much lower. (except for private housing in the center)

apartments in zemun or novi beograd are much cheaper, but the time spent in public transport has to be considered. markets in zemun are also much cheaper than in stari grad.

it was ok and i enjoyed my stay. perhaps because i had been on another stay abroad before (brasil), where i spoke the host countries language, i was however not as impressed and satisfied with the stay in beograd..
Si j'y retournais je choisirais: Appartement/maison

the usual student housing is very far away from the university and the center of belgrade and not exactly in the best shape. in contrast to this, the apartment in the very center, which i shared was probably the best experience during the whole stay.
