The student "nations" are incredible - any of them are to be recommended, but personal favorites were "Snarkes", "Varmlands", "Goteborgs" and "V-Dalas".

Exceptional accommodation, with great fellow students and a great location. A trifle pricey, but this was made up for by the fact that I spent next to nothing on transport - everything was within a short walking (staggering...) distance.

This was an excellent experience for me, but bear in mind that Swedish was one of my majors at my home University. I believe other Exchange Students might not have enjoyed the social scene as much as I did, due to the language factor. But Swedes in general have an excellent ability to speak English. They are open and friendly to people from other cultures (especially Australia and New Zealand), and I struggle to believe anyone from anywhere couldn't live, cope and enjoy themselves there.

Personal recommendation
Highly, but it depends on a person's prime motivation in going to Sweden. I spoke Swedish and had a specific area of studies in mind, so the place was sheer perfection for me.

Just be aware that any experience overseas in a different culture is what YOU make it. You get out of it what you put in. I strongly urge any travellers to Sweden to make any attempt (however small) to learn the local language - while it is true that Swedes demonstrate an ability to speak excellent English, knowing some Swedish will help you to feel more at ease in social situations of all kinds, and they are greatly impressed to meet a foreigner who has made some kind of effort to learn their "little" language. It's not all that different from English, and not hard to achieve a high level of competence once the initial difficulties are overcome.
