You will see what events are for you. Every student joins a "nation" which has their own particular night for parties.Norrlands has great pub. Stockholms and Snerikes have the best clubs. Their are also smaller nation and pubs that are fun too. Make sure to go for a sauna late night at Flogsta. Town square has great spots for coffee, if you dont drink coffee, you will when you get there.Hit the "fikas" which are midday coffee breaks.

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
Family<br> Personal savings
Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience
Personal spending habits
Prices are generally higher for everything in Sweden. Swedish gov't offers free college and medical so taxes are brutal, be ready to pay for your drinks. If you stick to student bars you should be alright.

Scale down the eating habits, food is expensive. Calling out of Europe to N.america is ridiculous.Try and get a job at a bar as I did. Its not hard and you will be able to eat and drink for free.

Final comments
Travel at every opportunity, meet as many people as possible, and get involved. There are activities for everyone, and your stay is as good as you make it. Right when you get there you will probably feel homesick, especially if during dark winter, but it will pass.

Academic
Course recommendations
My classes were a joke. But I had some buddies who had a hard time with their classes. My advice is to make it as easy on yourself as possible, Your not going to want to spend the weekend studying when your buddies are off traveling.
