Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On a corridor/hall
Why?
My apartment was really nice, but I think if I could do it all again I would choose to live on a hall with other Swedish students in order to learn more about the Swedish culture.

The usual student pubs were the best...Stallarna, Pudas, Sivans. Cheap beer and all students!

I wish I had known...
I wish I had done some research on Sweden before I arrived! I knew nothing at all! It wasnt as cold as I expected so all of the big wool sweaters were completely unnecessary! But I learned all I needed to know once I got here.

Personal recommendation
I would definately recommend it!! I was extremely lucky by getting placed in Växjö. I honestly did no research at all when deciding where to study abroad but it was fate that brought me to Växjö. It was the perfect international environment!

Final comments
If you have the chance, I would recommend that you come to Växjö. It is small enough so that you feel a part of it and but large enough so that there is always something to do. The international office is really good about arranging trips and I could say after 6 months that I knew every single international student. It was the best experience of my life! And I am still here in Sweden! :)

No, I really liked the system where we studied only one course at a time and then had an exam on just that one course. Then we began the next one. They also have this great system of retakes here...if you fail the first time, you can take it again later!

Personal spending habits
Overall things are more in expensive in Sweden. But through my university I had all the same prices for food and rent that I had at home. As far as travel is concerned, I took advantage of being in Europe and travelled as much as I could.Phone bills were obviously higher since I had to call overseas.
