Take up all the opprtunities available to you, even thought there's so many it might be impossible. You might have to study more than usual if you came from the UK because the drink and nightlife is not everynight and day, so take some extra activities in mind with you when you go. I joined a tai-chi class, swam, cycled, played tennis, started dance. A much healthier me returned!!

Brilliant experience and I hope to return this summer to visit students I met whilst there. I have also met people from Vaxjo returning to my home university and hopefully given them as much help, friendliness and guidence as the hosts did for me in that great semester I had out there. Thanks Guys!

Växjö is not a big city at all, but it has beautiful places to visit like the Swedish Glass Museum which represent the tradition of glass blowing and development, kronobergs ruins, the castle close to the university, g the lakes around the university...Besides Växjö city and Småland area, Sweden has a lot to offer. The main cities like Malmö (with the Oresund bridge which joins both countries, Denmark and Sweden), Gothenborg and Stockholm show the different landscapes that we can find in Sweden according to the different seasons. In general, there is nothing to miss in this country, try the food, the so common "Saunas", all the cultures that are mixed....The night life much different from south Europe. A new experience

I wish I had known...
How much I would enjoy it and how many brilliant people I would meet, so I could enjoy it more while I was there and not just look back fondly

Go to the north of Sweden, internal flights are very cheap for students. Take full advantage. Keep hold of boarding cards to claim you free flights.

Personal spending habits
I did a lot more travelling than I do at home. I wanted to take the opportunity to see some of the world! Nightlife was generally more expensive, as was food, although pizza in the campus shop (deliverys done)was cheaper.

Personal comments
There is a second hand shop open once a week and if you can be bothered to find it when you first arrive it could save you money on household stuff. Just look around town. Don't expect Ikea to be like the ones at home, I was well suprised when we drew up outside a warehouse with red writing. It works along the same warehouse type principle but is not the cliched yellow and blue-much sadness!!!

The entire experience was awesome. The only thing I would change is to mix more internationals with regular students so the student experience turns out to be stronger in all aspects.

It is possible to travel to many countries from Sweden. It is easy to get some days off from school to travel, but keep in mind that the courses are self-study oriented. You will have a great time if you balance all your time between studies, travel, parties and social arrengements.

Course recommendations
I am not acquainted with all the courses that are given at Växjö University but that University is pretty known all over Sweden and abroad for the business and economic studies. Almost everything if not everything can be studied there with good reputation

Personal comments
we, southen european students, dont have the habit to attend few hours of lessons and then study the rest on our own. In Scandinavia, it works just in the opposite way. In one side, that makes the students work harder themselves, but in another side,if the teacher explained a little bit more, students would increase their knowledge in less time
