I was living in a rent house and in Portugal I live with my parents, therefore I had this adittional expense. I spend less traveling beucase of my bike.Nightlife was quite the same, I didn't notice too many differences in the prices and we had a lot of erasmus home parties therefore was cheap.To sum up, I expended a lot more, mainly beucase I was living alone on my own and the prices are a bit higher than in Portugal.

Daily life normaly is more expensive than in Portugal

one reason is that Amsterdam is slightly more expensive than Vienna, I would say. and the other reason is that you spend a lot more money on activities than you would do at home, because you travel more, etc

Because the currency differences is pretty high and things are more expensive here.

Since the kitchen was rather small, and used by 12 persons, it was harder to cook than it is at home. This made me by more pre-cooked dishes.

I spent more in my host country than at home because in this last case I used to live with my parents
