THE ROLE
At Farfetch, our mission is to be the global platform for luxury fashion, connecting creators, curators, and consumers. Central to that mission is trust. As an Authenticity Specialist, you will be the frontline guardian of our marketplace integrity.
Working within the Operations department, you will bridge the gap between deep product knowledge and scalable operational processes. You won't just be identifying fakes; you will be architecting the systems, data frameworks, and guidelines that ensure every item moving through our network is the real deal. We are looking for a hybrid expert-someone with an eye for detail and a strategic mindset.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Your day-to-day will be a mix of hands-on expertise and strategic development. You will:
* Execute Expert Authentication: Perform physical and digital analysis of luxury goods across multiple categories (Leather Goods, Ready-to-Wear, Footwear, etc.) to verify brand-specific construction and hallmarks. Conduct comparative reviews using benchmark products, brand references, and sourcing documentation;
* Establish and Maintain Authenticity Standards: Develop, document, and continuously update Farfetch's Authenticity Guidelines, establishing the definitive "source of truth" for quality across our global operations. This includes documenting authentication rationale, findings, and identified inconsistencies to support all internal teams;
* Innovate Tooling: Collaborate with other teams to develop and test new authentication tools, ranging from AI-assisted imaging to hardware-based verification solutions. Contribute to the development of investigation frameworks and authenticity assessment standards;
* Trend Forecasting: Conduct continuous market research on "super-fakes," emerging counterfeit techniques, and resale market shifts to ensure our team is always two steps ahead;
* Data-Driven Optimization: Prepare and analyze performance reports. You will track metrics like Accuracy Rates, Return Reasons (Authenticity-related), and SLA Adherence to identify gaps in our current process.

* A Luxury Fashion Enthusiast: You are deeply passionate about the luxury industry. You don't just follow fashion; you live it. You love staying on top of the latest runway trends, designer appointments, and seasonal shifts, understanding how these movements impact the market and product construction;
* The Luxury Expert: You have a proven track record in luxury authentication (either from a resale platform, an auction house, or a luxury brand);
* The Analytical Thinker: You don't just find a problem; you want to know why it happened. You are comfortable using data (Excel/Looker) to spot patterns in counterfeit influxes;
* The Knowledge Sharer: You have a knack for taking complex, tactile information and turning it into clear, written SOPs and training modules for others;
* Agile & Proactive: The luxury market moves fast. You are someone who thrives on staying updated with the latest brand acquisitions, designer shifts, and manufacturing changes;
* Integrity-Driven: You understand that in the world of luxury, reputation is everything. You have an uncompromising commitment to quality.
