We are searching for the best talent for a CNC Machinist I in Jacksonville, FL.
This position is an entry-level individual contributor responsible for executing tasks according to defined standards and procedures. The role provides support to internal teams within the Fabrication Operations function and closely adheres to established administrative processes to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables. The individual maintains high standards of professionalism, efficiency, and communication while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining CNC and metrology equipment as per established protocols, performing daily operations, conducting preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment and system issues. The role also involves ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental policies, maintaining area waste rooms, and staying informed about FDA, OSHA, GMP, MPs, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 specifications. A strong commitment to adhering to Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Entry-level position qualified or working towards a qualification in Optical Tooling to one platform.
* Responsible for operating equipment for the manufacture of inserts according to established specifications.
* Troubleshoots and corrects simple manufacturing problems promptly.
* Maintains supplies and calibration records for pertinent equipment.
* Performs relevant metrology of machined parts using various instruments.
* Assists with maintaining machine tools that cut, shape, and form metals and plastics according to the correct specifications.
* Cleans and monitors machinery to maintain a clean, well-organized environment and ensure compliance.
* Learn strategies and techniques for operating specialized machinery.
* Demonstrates Johnson & Johnson's Leadership Imperatives and Credo.
* Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.
* Train associates about established procedures.
Qualifications:
* A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Must have strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work a continuous operations schedule (day or night).
* At least 2 years of experience in the machining trade or military training in a technical or mechanical field and/or equivalent experience within a CNC machining work environment is preferred. Consideration is given to individuals enrolled in Vocational, Technical, Community Colleges or Apprentice machining programs.
* Previous work experience in the medical device industry or FDA-related industry is preferred.
* Basic knowledge and familiarity with AutoCad and MasterCam are preferred.
* Ability to inspect precision machined parts is preferred.
* Ability to read and interpret multi-paged complex machining product blueprints.
* Knowledge of and the ability to apply algebraic and/or geometric functions to blueprint dimensions in the machining of products.
* CNC programming (G&M code) experience and fabrication within a tight tolerance (+/-2 micron) environment is preferred.
* Ability to setup & program CNC machines (lathes, grinders, mill) to fabricate parts within +/- 2-micron tolerances is preferred.
* Familiarity or ability to measure components using Metrology equipment Zygo (interferometers, VeriFire, VWA) and Taylor-Hobson Talysurf is preferred.
* This position is located in Jacksonville, FL and requires up to 10% of domestic travel.
