UNICRI is a (COMPANY NAME) entity established in 1965 to support countries worldwide in preventing crime and facilitating criminal justice. UNICRI is mandated to assist intergovernmental, governmental and non-governmental organizations in formulating and implementing improved policies in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. UNICRI' s goals are:

- to facilitate international law enforcement cooperation and judicial assistance.
This position is located in UNICRI HQ (Turin, Italy) and within the "Pilot Project on Countering Violent Extremism in the Sahel-Maghreb", which is aimed at strengthening the capacities of local civil society actors in Maghreb and Sahel regions, including youth, media, and religious groups, to build resilience within society to withstand radicalization to violence. The project is also evaluating the actions implemented by local actors in order to identify good practices in conflict mitigation. The internship is for an initial period of two months, with a possibility of an extension for up to a total period of six months. The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the programme. Preferable beginning date - mid-January 2020.
The intern will assist the project team by performing the following tasks:
-Entering data collected through questionnaires administered to project participants in Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Morocco and Tunisia;
-Preparing short summaries (in English, French and possibly Arabic) of substantive material for publishing on the electronic knowledge management system and assisting in maintaining and improving the knowledge management system;
-Verifying and mapping participants of training events, conducting a comparative analysis of participant profiles and identifying ways to present findings in a graphically appealing manner;
-Assisting in the implementation of the programme's media plan by producing written material, such as feature stories, articles, press releases, speaking points, presentations, and short news items, and preparing them for publishing on UNICRI's media channels, such as project newsletter, website, Facebook, Twitter or Medium account;
-Conducting research and drafting reports and other written output related to the programme;
-Analyzing, organizing and updating an inventory of substantive material produced during the period of implementation of grants by civil society actors. Special focus will be on analyzing and comparing reported perceptions of violent extremism;
-Monitoring news sources for articles and stories relevant to the programme;
-Perform other related duties upon request.

1. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
