Internship on Modeling and Numerical Simulation in Additive Manufacturing
(COMPANY NAME) Labs/3D Lab/Digital Twin research group is searching for multiple ambitious, talented research interns to join in our journey to revolutionize digital manufacturing. These research interns will become core members of a research project that applies modeling and simulation to analyze and predict the physical processes in our plastics and metal 3D printing system, and predict the functional outcome (e.g., thermal/mechanical properties of the parts manufactured). They will be under close guidance of (COMPANY NAME) Labs researchers (an elite team of PhDs covering expertise from computer science, computational physics, machine learning and mechanical engineering), and in collaboration with our 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing product engineers, digest process physics (e.g., particle sintering, thermal sciences), develop and implement numerical methods (e.g., finite volume, finite elements) algorithms and apply to solve real-world industrial problem.
An ideal candidate must possess the true spirit of an industrial researcher, willing to work independently and proactively in researching, testing and prototyping solutions. She/he must be working toward Bachelor degree in Computational Systems or any Engineering degree with experience in Programming, Numerical Methods, Lineal Algebra, and Vector Calculus.
The candidate should be very comfortable writing C++ code and using a scripting language such as Python. Background in, GPGPU programming is a big plus.
Main activities include:
Write C++ code to implement numerical models into 3D printing simulation frameworks, writing industrial-level reports with the results obtained throughout the internship.
