This internship position is located in the French Verbatim Reporting Section, Meetings and Publishing Division, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM) in New York. The internship is for two (2) months from 3 February 2020 to 3 April 2020, with a possibility of extension, subject to the needs of the Department. The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of the Chief of the Verbatim Reporting Section/Service or the internship supervisor, as appropriate. Candidates are encouraged to highlight their specific skills and/or experience in their application. They are asked to do so carefully in order to enhance the value of the internship for both themselves and the receiving Section/Service.
Interns will be responsible for the following duties: (a) translating into French, which must be the candidates' main language, verbatim records of meetings from one or more of the other official languages of the (COMPANY NAME) for training and other purposes and subject to review. The official languages are: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish; (b) performing other related duties as required.

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
*Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher),
*Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) or
*Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, much commence the internship within a one year period of graduation from an academic programme.
Applicants who are unable to commence the internship within one year of graduation shall not be accepted.
