Beschreibung:

The Internships (several of which are available) are in the Outreach Division of the Department of Global Communications, in New York. They are for a period of two months, but expected to be extended to up to six months -- and candidates must therefore be available for up to six months. The Outreach Division engages and educates people and their communities worldwide to encourage support for the ideals and activities of the (COMPANY NAME).The positions are located in the Director's Office of the Outreach Division.

The internships are unpaid and full-time. Interns work five days a week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the office to which they are assigned.

Responsibilities

The interns will be part of a team, based in New York, which supports the Director of the Division (who is also the Commissioner-General of the UN at Expo 2020 in Dubai) in the preparations for the UN presence at Expo 2020.

Interns may be assigned to different functions: supporting in contents (e.g. development of written texts and other materials), fundraising, partnerships, programming, and other.

The interns assisting in the domain of contents will have the following duties:
*Research, compile and summarize materials for use in the development of the Expo 2020 and UN75 exhibitions and initiatives.
*Assist in collecting multimedia content and production of high-quality infographics, photos, videos, newsletters, and other shareable content. Provides editorial and technical assistance.
*Support in logistical arrangements and administrative tasks related to the production of contents.
*Create and updates content databases, working with staff to identify and highlight best options for use in the final displays.
*Assist with the creation of captions and other text-based exhibition content.

The interns assisting on partnerships and fundraising will have the following duties:
*Support in the development of project documents, proposals and concept notes.
*Research, compile and summarize materials related to the priorities and aspirations of relevant stakeholders.
*Assist in the scheduling and preparation of meetings.
*Support in logistical and administrative tasks related to partnerships and fundraising, including event / project planning and management.
*Create and manages relevant databases, excel sheets, and other tools related to the above.

The interns assisting in programming will have the following duties:
*Support in the development of programming documents, proposals and concept notes.
*Support in liaising with Member States, UN entities and the private sector on programming.
*Research, compile and summarize materials related to the programming.
*Assist in the scheduling and preparation of meetings.
*Support in logistical and administrative tasks related to programming.
*Create and manage relevant databases, excel sheets, and other tools related to the above.

All interns will also:
*Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
*Respond or draft responses to a wide range of correspondence and other communications.
*Assist in outreach activities.
*Perform other duties as assigned.

All interns are expected to be flexible, and perform different types of duties in support of colleagues as may be needed.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:

- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme in journalism, communication, media studies, filmmaking, international relations, social sciences (including history, politics, philosophy, anthropology, etc), economics, law, or related field (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
(c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation;
- Be computer literate in standard software applications;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the (COMPANY NAME) and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is related to the type of internship that you are applying to is required.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official (COMPANY NAME) language is desirable.
