This position is located within the Security Sector Reform Unit (SSRU) in the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions (OROLSI), Department of Peace Operations (DPO), (COMPANY NAME) (UN) Secretariat. It is for a period of two months with an opportunity for extension up to six months, depending on the needs of the division and availability of the candidate. The Outreach Division engages and educates people and their communities worldwide to encourage support for the ideals and activities of the (COMPANY NAME).
The internship is unpaid and full-time.
Interns work five days a week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the office to which they are assigned.
The intern will assist one of the (COMPANY NAME) outreach programmes. The selected intern may perform some of the following functions:

xxx7; Assist in drafting communications materials including social media posts and blogs;
xxx7; Update and maintain SSRU's social media presence on all major platforms;
xxx7; Support the production, editing and communication of SSRU digital content;
xxx7; Assist in the design of SSRU communications products.

xxx7; Organize photo banks, mailing lists and archival content;
xxx7; Support virtual events and visual communications;
xxx7; Support the development and implementation of the SSRU's annual communications strategy;

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme in journalism, communication, media studies, filmmaking, international relations or related field (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or
(c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation;
- Be computer literate in standard software applications;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the (COMPANY NAME) and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

English and French are working languages of the UN Secretariat. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the other is desirable.
