This internship is located in the Global Service Delivery Model project team GSDM) in the Office of the Under-Secretary-General (OUSG) for Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC). The global service delivery model is an important component of the Secretary General's reform agenda, and aims to improve the responsiveness, efficiency, transparency and accountability of administrative service delivery across the organization, through the establishment of global shared services.
The intern(s) will provide support for the development of various aspects of the global service delivery model project including: organization design, process re-engineering, the client relationship management application, funding model and performance management framework. Interns will also support project management activities, develop written reports and perform other coordination tasks as necessary. The internship will provide direct exposure to a major change management project and allow the candidate to gain a broad overview of the administrative and financial specialties across the organization.
This internship is offered for a minimum of three months with a possibility for extension up to six months contingent on availability of the candidate. The internship is unpaid and would be available either full-time or part-time. Full time interns would be expected to work 35 hours per week (five days) while part-time interns would be expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week (two to three days), under the supervision of a staff member in the office to which they are assigned. The part-time internship must be equivalent of a minimum of at least two months on a full-time basis and must be completed within a six-month period.
The intern(s) will be responsible for:
*Researching, analyzing and presenting information gathered from diverse sources on assigned topics.
*Summarizing data to create graphs, tables and process maps.
*Assisting in the development of correspondence, reports and presentations.
*Assisting in the development of communication materials.
*Providing coordination support for events, meetings and workshops.
*Performing other support functions to project workstreams as assigned.

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met
1. Applicants at the time of application must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management or a related field;
(c) Have graduated with a university as defined in (a) and (b) above and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation;
(d) If pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, have completed at least four years of full time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management or a related field;
2. The applicant must be computer literate in standard software applications; strong working knowledge of software applications including Word, Excel and Power Point is required, familiarity with Visio is a plus.
3. Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the (COMPANY NAME) and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the (COMPANY NAME) Charter.
4. The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
