Job Description:

The internship is located in the Office of the Director-General/Office of the Executive Director, (COMPANY NAME) Office at Vienna (UNOV)/(COMPANY NAME) Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Vienna (Austria). The duration of the internship is 6 months starting as soon as possible.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time.

Interns work five days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
The intern shall undertake the following duties which may include, but are not limited to:
-assist with the review of documentation intended for the signature of the Director-General/Executive Director (DG/ED);
-provide assistance in the preparations of the activities around the 75th anniversary of the (COMPANY NAME), in direct coordination with the Protocol team.
-draft correspondence for the signature of the DG/ED on a variety of issues;
-assist during special events and meetings as well as during visits of high-level counterparts to UNOV/UNODC;
-perform other ad-hoc assignments subject to the exigencies of service;
-assist with the updates of the databases and UNOV Protocol website

Education

To qualify for an internship with the (COMPANY NAME) Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:

* Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation (OFFICIAL PROOF FROM THE UNIVERSITY IN SUPPORT OF ONE OF THE ABOVE OPTIONS HAS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE INSPIRA APPLICATION);

* Be computer literate in standard software applications;

* Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the (COMPANY NAME) and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and

* Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the (COMPANY NAME) Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of another official (COMPANY NAME) language is an advantage.
