The Office for Outer Space Affairs OOSA-Space Applications Section internship is for two (2) months with an opportunity for extension up to a total of six (6) months, pending on the needs of the office and the availability of the intern.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background; the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
-Write a module to integrate Mapbox with Drupal 8 to facilitate the creation of maps
-Allow switching between various types of maps and layers
-Develop maps that function as filters for content listings
-Develop maps that are related to content published on the Space4Water portal.
-Assist in the integration of the GEOSS search widget
-Assist in the creation of a list of functionality for GIS and mapping software including the processing of remote sensing data
-Contribute to the elaboration of technical documents and articles on the use of remote sensing applications for water-related issues.

*Have demonstrated experience in Geographic Information Systems;
*Have demonstrated experience in web development;

*Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
